We keep this simple: Astra AI uses only the storage it needs to work. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking that profiles you or your children.
What we store
- Sign-in session (cookie, essential):keeps you logged in securely so you don't re-enter your password on every page.
- Active learner (cookie, essential): remembers which child profile is currently learning, so progress saves to the right person.
- Theme preference (local storage): remembers your light/dark choice. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Why we don't need a consent banner for these
The items above are strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for (signing in and saving your work), so under UK/EU rules they do not require prior consent. Because we run no analytics or advertising cookies, there is nothing optional to consent to. If we ever add non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this notice.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but blocking the essential ones will stop sign-in and progress-saving from working. Clearing local storage will reset your theme preference.
